LOTUS rises as a vast garden of towering blossoms, inspired by the lotus flower’s timeless symbolism of resilience and renewal. Oversized petals, translucent, radiant, and sculpted from striking metallic forms, blend industrial craftsmanship with the organic beauty of the natural world on a monumental scale.
By magnifying nature to immersive proportions, LOTUS transforms the landscape into a surreal environment that shifts perspective, inviting visitors to experience the world as both futuristic and deeply rooted in nature. As light pulses through each shifting structure, reflecting across the quarry’s water, viewers will pause to rediscover the otherworldly wonder, fragility, and power of our natural world.
MEET THE ARTIST
Nicolas Paolozzi
Visual artist and architect Nicolas Paolozzi explores the notion of dynamic space through his installations. He uses light to create evolving atmospheres, leaving room for the public’s imagination and interpretation. These ephemeral spaces become places for gathering, exchange, and emotion, fostering social interaction. They offer visitors a new perspective on the urban environment. Committed to sustainable architecture, Nicolas Paolozzi’s installations have always relied on modular construction systems that can be reused from one project to the next. “Thinking about the ephemeral to build sustainably” is the philosophy that has guided the artist’s approach for over ten years. In 2017, Nicolas Paolozzi founded MODULE, a French studio that designs large-scale installations in public spaces around the world.
